What is a Dental Implant?

Many people believe that once they lose or break a tooth, that is what they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. Their confidence is typically affected and they have to constantly find new ways of hiding their smile.

Look we understand, life happens. People lose teeth all the time for a variety of reasons.

Luckily, we live in a time where there is an effective solution that is also a permanent fix.

That solution is a Dental Implant.

Dental Implants are the closest you can get to the natural tooth replacement.

Dental Implants allow you to live your life as you had before your tooth was lost. You can eat, smile, kiss, talk, and do all of the things that you had done before.

That of course leads to the question: “Just what is a dental implant?”

In this post, we will share the process with you. If you think you could be a good candidate for a Dental Implant, you can get in touch with the Accelerated Dental team.

The Dental Implant Process

  1. You have a tooth either that is missing, or failing and it needs to be removed.
  2. Capture a 3-D scan to tell us where your bone and nerves are to safely place the implant
  3. Day of procedure, the tooth comes out and the implant goes in.
  4. It takes 3 months for the implant to become a part of your jaw
  5. At 3 months, we then screw the tooth into the implant or snap a denture onto the implant.

Facts about Dental Implants

It is estimated that there are 500,000+ Dental Implants performed annually. This means there are millions of people living their lives as they had previously.

Part of the process involves titanium. In addition to superior strength, titanium also fuses with the jaw bone, in a biologically natural way.
